Our private 90-minute tour will take us into the heart of London’s Brutalist legacy and uncover some of the stories behind the radical architectural vision that shaped the Barbican into the cultural landmark it is today. The estate includes some 2000 flats as well as an arts centre, church and schools, all built on a site almost completely erased in the Blitz. Our tour will take us behind the scenes and into secret places overlooked by most. Grade 2 listed, the Barbican’s iconic status was immortalised in the 2024 Oscar-winning film The Brutalist. Now is a great time to visit: permission has just been granted for extensive refurbishment starting in 2028. (Please note that most of the tour is outside – whatever the weather – and there are steps and uneven surfaces).
